Welcome to C0113c70rIn days of old, tax collectors roamed the countryside of kingdoms far away collecting taxes from those who lived and worked within the royal territories. That which they collected was added to the kings' coffers and used to pay the salaries of those who worked within the kingdoms' governments. When taxes could not be paid, the subjects who could not pay were driven from their lands. The crops that they planted were forfeit to the collectors, as were those worldly possessions that the fleeing subjects were unable to carry with them. And, in the harshest of rules, non-paying subjects were either imprisoned or put to death. Those days have passed by hundreds - even thousands - of years. Still, governments require those living within their realms to pay certain taxes. Amongst those taxes are the real property taxes paid by landowners. When the governments (city, county and other relevant governments) successfully collect the annual taxes that are due, they are added to the coffers of those governments in order to pay for public services, equipment, maintenance, and employee salaries. And what happens when the landowners fail to pay their taxes on time? Streets go unpaved and potholes go unfilled. Household garbage, trash and debris are left rotting at roadsides for vermin to feed upon and nest within. Educators are left without the necessary tools and supplies to properly educate the youth of the land, leaving them to grow up into the world without the necessary knowledge and skills to become productive and self-sustaining citizens. Then, there are government employees who do not receive much needed salary raises so that they can support their families in a world where inflation knows no mercy. There grows the need for government employee cutbacks - layoffs and firings - so that other employees can be paid their meager salaries. These are only a sampling of those horrid things which happen when property taxes are not collected by governments - that is, until citizen collectors step in to assist the governments. And that is what C0113c70r does. We step in to assist our governments by paying those much needed tax dollars into the governments' coffers when deadbeat taxpayers don't pay. We help to keep the government properly funded so that it may more properly provide those necessary services to us and our neighbors. In return, we inherit the right to earn interest on the monies that we pay in, should the deadbeats wake up and decide to assume responsible roles within our society. And, if, within the period of time allotted by law, those deadbeats don't pay up, we then inherit their properties as our own. We are the C0113c70r when the governments' collectors fail. |
